Little Jimmy’s is located in the heart of Clacton town centre
We used to be used as a Sunday school for St James church until we took over the building and have established a thriving pre-school.
We are a charity run preschool and we thrive on the ongoing support we receive from our parents, families and the local community when we hold fundraising events such as fetes, sponsored activities and bake sales.
Our Offering
- We take children from age 2-5 years old
- We offer spaces for 42 children per session
Fees and Funding
- We offer placements for 15 hour funding, 30 hour funding and also non-funded placements are available.
Facilities
- 2 Spacious gardens – (1 sensory garden 1 physical garden)
- Age appropriate toilets designed to support and encourage children’s independence.
- We have a huge range of resources ready to engage the children throughout their play and learning. We were recognised by Ofsted for our wide variety of resources and that was highlighted to us.
- We also have a defibrillator on site and accessible in case of an emergency inside or outside the building.
Our Rooms
Our rooms are sectioned as follows
The Bumblebee Room – the 2-3 year old room
The Ladybirds – Rising 3-5 year old room
This room gets the children school ready, focussing more on the children specific areas to enhance their development in activities such as Literacy, Maths and Understanding the World.
Staff
- All our staff are trained in Childcare, the majority a Level 3, all staff are paediatric first aid trained, as well staff having certification in Makaton, Food & Hygiene, Autism Awareness, Challenging Behaviour.
- All staff are DBS checked including students and volunteers
- We work with a very tight team who we are continuously challenging their professional development with ongoing learning which constantly boosts their knowledge and understanding within the role
- We have a designated SENCo and ENCO officer
- We have designated Safeguarding officers on site at all times.

Our Cann Hall nursery is opening in October 2022
Cann Hall offers and open-plan environment for the ages of 2-5 years old with separate zoned-off areas for different age groups. It is located on-site at Cann Hall, which is an already established school and area.

- Purpose built new build setting featuring an open plan free flow environment suited for all age ranges.
- Feature windows provide a natural well-lit space.
- An independent garden with a large shaded area. The garden plan features opportunities for children to explore and develop within all 7 areas of learning.
- Wet pour surfaced play space in the garden
- Light and airy
- An in room kitchen and service area, allowing preparation of food and involvement of children in the process and self serve.
- It has an open planned kitchen for children to be able to help prepare snacks, wash their hands, cook and clean. Learn independency.
- Age appropriate toilets designed to support and encourage children’s independence.
